The CAD Designer is responsible to design parts and assemblies that meet the new product technical requirements and make changes/modifications to existing products to sustain a market leading, competitive product.Key Outputs:
Provide robust design recommendations based on technical requirements from engineering.
Reviews drawing and designs based to established Elkay and industry specifications and standards. Ensures 3D models and drawings comply with Elkay design practices.
Reading, interpreting and developing 2D drawings and specification sheets according to ASME or ISO standards based on engineering direction.
Design parts using knowledge of Elkay and supplier manufacturing and assembly process.
Resolving discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs
Manage the ECO process for new designs or changes to existing designs.
Understand and work within the Elkay BOM systems
High School degree or equivalent; Associates Degree preferred.
5-7 years' experience in manufacturing or product development
Able to professionally represent Elkay when communicating with internal customers while providing direct support to Engineering, Manufacturing & Marketing
Proficient skills in Solid Works and AutoCAD
Understanding of Parametric design
Experience with prototyping technology for design model builds is preferred
Experience with or Understanding of Product Data Management Systems
Previous work creating and managing BIM files is preferred
Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office and CAD systems.
Knowledge in the following areas are a plus:
Plastic Part Design and Part Finishing
Metal Forming and Finishing Process
Electric Cable and Harness Modeling
Understanding of GD&T
Strong Mathematical Aptitude
Able to facilitate and lead design reviews with multiple technical stakeholders
Creative and entrepreneurial abilities
Excellent communication skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
